Program Development Assistant Intern

Requirements: Some training in grant writing, fund-raising or event planning. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Internet research needed. Must have good people skills and a positive attitude.

Description: Assists Executive Director with grant research, writing and submissions.

 

Art and Training Development Intern

Requirements: Ability to create vector art for use in a wide variety of programs and adaptations. Must provide all software and hardware for completion of projects.  Must have good people skills and a positive attitude.

Description: Assists training staff with creation and application of art relating to the agency's Conflict CreatuesTM traing, wherein eight different personalities/conflict styles are identified as comic-book-style villains.  Internship can be largely self-study, but requires at least one day per week in the office.

 

Database Administrator Intern

Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Access, with specialized computer science training. AS or BS computer science major preferred.

Description: Maintain donor and program databases for the agency. Develop and run Access queries as needed. Perform database maintenance and documentation. Train staff on protocol.

 

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Intern

Requirements: Candidates should be majoring in human service, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or liberal arts. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Internet research needed, and must have good written and verbal communication skills. Must be reliable, have good people skills and a positive attitude. Professionalism and dependability are required.

Description: Assists ADR Director with program development such as creating training materials, volunteer recruitment, program outcomes, client satisfaction, visibility and long-term effects of mediation on the community, families and schools. Special projects may include: Develop Elder Issues Mediation and Victim Offender program, including protocol, forms, letters, and referral sources and Weed & Seed Conflict Resolution Project development. Candidates may potentially participate in 32 hour Mediation Basic Training.

 

Child Advocacy Intern

Requirements: Candidates should be majoring in human service, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or liberal arts. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Internet research, and have good written and verbal skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel within Oneida & Herkimer Counties. Must be reliable, objective and have the ability to talk with all kinds of people, some of whom will be dealing with difficult issues.

Description: Assists Director of Advocacy services with CASA, and Child Custody Advocate Program. Participate in observation of Family Court, Model Court, and Treatment Court.
