Peer Student and Teacher     With such a large proportion of youth interaction happening at school, inevitably there are going to be conflicts.  Luckily, there are teachers, counselors, administrators, parents, and a wide variety of other observers who can see potentially problematic behavior and ask for intervention before it escalates out of control.  Peer mediation is an excellent option for intervention, and it is available to any school in our area.  The service is convenient, private and free of charge.

With bullying, both physical and electronic, taking an ever-more-prominent place in the news, many schools are searching for alternative means to work out conflicts between their students.  With  Student-Student mediation, a trained mediator can help resolve issues and reach an agreement that both youth can feel good about.

In addition, when districts are looking for a way to resolve disputes between a student and staff member, a mediator can be the perfect neutral third party.  Rather than issuing a binding decision that neither party might agree with, the mediator can help a student and teacher reach a solution in their own way.

The Peacemaker Program, Inc. provides a continuum of services including skill development, dispute resolution programs and child advocacy services through the use of carefully trained volunteers. Our mission is to offer inclusive, innovative approaches to resolve conflict and achieve positive outcomes for children, families and the community.
